It features 12 backlit program, preview, and overlay buttons that are numbered to match the source numbers that appear within the vMix interface. it's also ~$250, so you'll have to figure out whether it's worth it to you.The Acme vMix Control Surface adds tactile controls and a traditional production switching interface to any system running vMix software. I think the akai professional gives you more led colors to choose from, as well as trading out some of the buttons for knobs. but it would have been nice to have all the buttons light up at least all three colors. it's not a biggie, especially considering the price and versatility of the unit. the akai apc mini only has three led colors you can choose from (green, yellow, red), and most but not all of the buttons will have all three colors. like this one button lights up green when input 3 is showing on the main output, or have this entire row of buttons light up yellow. set them up to light when certain conditions are met. The same thing with the activators (Settings > Activators). i can send you some screenshots of my setup if you want to get you started. then i saw what the basic controls were and i could just copy those to the keys that i wanted. I had a friend who's more experienced with vmix set my board up initially. for web browser volume or video volume i can control that by mouse as they don't tend to fluctuate in volume nearly as much as people do. i notice i don't tend to adjust the master volume much, so i've been switching it out to control other things.
i have them control the vmix call-ins, as that's what i need immediate control of (people's volumes), with the ninth one controlling master volume. you can have the sliders control any audio input. Yea, in Settings > Shortcuts, you setup what the keys/sliders do.
